CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR UPCOMING VAN CONVERSION!

Thank you for considering Custom Crafted Vans. We are excited to bring your dream to life so you can hit the road with a beautiful, functional van. We wanted to walk you through how our process works, so you know what to expect working with us.

Here is an example breakdown:

  • Step One:

    Initial Consult Call - You can book call with us here.

  • Step Two

    Sign your letter of intent & put down deposit

  • Step Three

    Find a van or get a van on order

  • Step Four

    60 days before your scheduled drop-off date, we will go through the design, layout, and budget process

  • Step Five

    review your layout and budget, and make any changes

  • Step Six

    your van arrives! we will meet in person for 2-3 hours to go through design finishes

  • Step Seven

    We get to work building your van! 

Initial call, deposit & getting a van 

The initial step in our process is to understand your needs so that we can provide you with an estimate for your van conversion.

The final budget will be determined as we progress through the layout and design phase, approximately 60 days before your scheduled drop-off date. Since each project is tailored to your specifications, we will create a budget that meets your needs and includes all the additional features you desire.

Following our discussion, we will send you a Letter of Intent outlining your layout, budget range, and included materials. Upon signing this document and receiving the $6,000 deposit, you will be scheduled for production. This typically takes place 6-12 months from now, giving you ample time to decide on the features and design for your van.

Budget ranges vary based on the features, layout and any add-ons requested. Most builds are in the $100-200k range, which does not include the price of the van.

Our goal is to make this experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible for you, ensuring that your dream van becomes a reality.

Throughout this period, we will assist you in locating the right van, which may involve ordering through the appropriate dealership. This process is designed to help us align the van's delivery with our drop-off date, ensuring everything goes smoothly from start to finish.

Before We Receive Your Van

Once your van is on order or you know which van you are building in, we will build a budget based on your needs and requests. We will provide a detailed layout and design PDF 60-90 days before your scheduled build start date.

Review your layout and budget using the links provided in our email correspondence, and please confirm that all components and features you desire are listed in your PDF.

If any changes are made once the agreement & build starts, we will do a change order to document these changes as well as any changes in your budget.

We encourage you to collect inspirational images to share with us, such as pictures of completed vans from our gallery here or room designs that appeal to you. These images will be invaluable during our design meeting to help select appropriate materials or color samples.

Payment terms are 50% due at the start of your van build, 40% due after the “rough in” phase (rough electrical, furring, bathroom framing, etc), and 10% due at pick up.

There are options for financing, so please reach out for more information on how financing a build works.

What Happens at Drop Off?

The drop-off process at our Boise location varies depending on how you bring your van to us

    • Schedule a “Drop Off Date” and plan to spend 2-3 hours for the process.

    The meeting will include:

    • Preliminary Van Inspection

    • Layout Review

    • Insurance & Registration Verification

    Design Meeting:

    • Selection of cushion fabric, paint/stain colors for walls, ceiling, and cabinetry

    • Choice of flooring, countertops, tile, bathroom materials & fixtures

    • Selection of faucets, handles, and hardware

    • Finalizing the Budget

    • Signing the Contract

    Samples will be provided for the Design Meeting. If a sample is not available, you will have a month to source the materials using the provided specifications.

    • We will pick up your van at the dealership.

    • The Design Meeting will be conducted via Zoom

    • Samples will be mailed to you for selection.

What Happens after Drop Off?

Once you've dropped off your van, we start the transformation!

    • Insulation & Furring

    • Window & Vent Installations: Including AC units, fans, etc.

    • Rough Electrical Setup

    • Bathroom Framing

    • Bench/Bed Construction

    • Cabinetry Construction

    • Plumbing & Electrical Finishing

    • Truck Bed Liner Application

    • Bathroom Waterproofing & Finishing

    • Countertop & Tile Installation

    • Grey Water System Installation

    • Cabinetry Finishing

    • Hardware Installation: Handles, latches, etc.

    • Aluminess Item Installation

    • Suspension and Wheel/Tire Installation by Van Compass

    • Final Touch-Ups
